It's that time of year again. The annual Tennis Fun Day at Jackson Park is coming, Saturday May 31, 2008.
When: 10 am til 1 pm

Wayne Marshall, the teaching pro at the Hendersonville Country Club is our guest coach contributor. Wayne exhibits the "never give up" classic Aussie attidtude toward tennis. My tip for the month is, "always win the last point!"
When playing doubles he gives the following advice:
When returning serve put the net person out of your mind and focus on the open area in front of the server. Worrying about the opposing net player will hinder your returning accuracy. Aim for the oustide corner of the service box. "See it, believe it, and hit it".
As we say down under, "Thanks Mate, and see you on the court"!

The
Community Tennis Association of Henderson County (CTA-HC)
is a non-profit, volunteer organization, operating under
the umbrella of the North Carolina Tennis Association
(NCTA). Our mission is to promote the game
of tennis in Henderson County, North Carolina, raise funds
for tennis instruction, and be an advocate for improved
tennis facilities.
The
CTA-HC promotes adult, junior and beginner tennis programs,
as well as tournaments. We work closely with
the USTA, local tennis groups, clubs, municipal governments,
and the Henderson County Recreation Department to address
the needs of our tennis community.

What's Going On?
The
Community Tennis Association's
Friday Night Mixers
It's
that time of year again! The Friday Night Mixers kick off on April 4th at 6pm at Jackson Park. So dust off your racquets and come on out for fellowship and fun. The CTA will provide balls, snacks, and water.

June - 6th and 20th
July - 11th and 25th
August - 1st and 15th
September - 12th and 26th
October - 3rd and 17th
Thursday Drop-In Doubles for Adults
June and July at Jackson Park. Mixed Doubles at 1pm and Ladies Doubles at 6pm.

USTA Mountain News
USTA State Senior Championships will be in Asheville again. The tournament will be on June 5th thru June 8th. The Crowne Plaza will be the official host hotel, with Aston Park and Asheville Racquet Club serving as the official tournament sites.
Special Guest to Attend Tennis Fun Day 2008
The National Manager of Community Tennis Associations, David Slade will be attending this years Tennis Fun Day.
To help with fund raising he will be bringing with him 2 tickets to the US Open, which will be raffled off during the event.
